Are their any additional fees?
    No. There are no hidden fees and I am upfront with my costs, $200 per year and $40 per update.

What is a domain name?
    Domain name and URL are just technical terms for your website name. Domain names need to be registered with an online authority. I take care of this for you. All you need to do is choose a name that is available. Your domain name should be simple, easy to remember and should resemble your business name. If the name you want is unavailable, I can help you choose one. Type a name in the box below and select the search button to open a new window with availability info on that domain name. Spaces are not allowed. [example: nameofrestaurant.com]

What will my website look like?
    Your site will look exactly like your menu. In fact, it is a digitally enhanced scan of your menu. I enhance the scan for legibility and at times I may need to manually change text if the text is too small to read. The menu is centered on the screen and the outside border is called the background. I use either a solid color or a textured background. I will choose the initial background but the final choice is up to you.

What are links?
    Links are the foundation of the world wide web (www). When people “surf the web”, they are starting from one page and links take them to other pages and websites. Some websites are directories of information similar to the yellowpages. In Baltimore, there are many directories filled with references to restaurants in the area and after I add a link (yourrestaurant.com) to the directory, they will be able to click on that link and it will take them to your website. These directory links benefit you in 2 ways, they allow people to find your site and also, the search engines rank your site higher based on how many outside links go to your site.

Will there be 3rd party advertisements on my website?
    Absolutely not.

Do you offer online ordering?
    I have looked into this and decided not to. You would need a complicated website, an online merchant account, and a reliable faxing service to make this work. This can be very costly and time consuming to set up. I recommend Foodler.com for this. They set up everything for free and charge 5% per order plus credit card processing fees. If you do decide to use a paid online ordering service, I can still get you a website name and host a page that redirects to your online order page.

Who will my website be hosted with?
    Bluehost's HostMonster. You can visit their website at hostmonster.com. You can also visit their parent site bluehost.com. I use Hostmonster because they are the best. They rank #1 on many comparison charts.

Who will my domain name be registered with?
    Fastdomains. This is the domain registrar that Hostmonster uses. Their domain registration agreement that I am bound by, can be found at fastdomain.com/terms.html.

What about copyright laws?
     Unfortunately some menus are copyrighted and I am not able to scan those menus. The information ofcourse cannot be copyrighted but the layout and designs can be. If your menu is copyrighted, I recommend using another service to put your menu online but you can still purchase a domain redirect here.

How do I cancel?
    You pay a one time fee per year so it doesn't benefit you to cancel however... if you choose to, contact me and I will terminate services and remove your website immediately.

Someone told me I can post information online for free, is that true?
    You cannot get the services I provide for free. Some sites let you put information on their site but you do not get a website name. Without a website name you can not advertise it in print ads, menu, storefront, online ads, search engines, directories, etc. Without a website name you cannot type your name in a browser and go straight to your site. You cannot use keywords to rank your site in search engines. If you advertise online for free, you will see that your return is the same as your investment.

What search engines do you consider the top 3?
    95% of all searches are performed through Google, Yahoo and Bing. A recent trend I am noticing is that these 3 are buying out the others. Advertising companies say they will submit your website to hundreds of search engines but this is false. For example AOL Search uses Google's index. Therefore submitting to Google will display the same results in AOL. I recently used a service that promised to submit to 123 search engines to find out that only 7 were in the united states and 3 of those were specialty search engines (they didn't pertain to my website) and the major search engines were not included. I will always give you the facts.

How long will this take to complete?
    About a week to scan, edit, upload your menu, purchase a domain name and submit to search engines and local directories.

What forms of payment are accepted?
    I will provide you with a bill. You can pay securely through my PayPal business account or you can pay by check or money order.

Will there be a contract?
    No contract. The costs of domain and hosting are paid for immediately. Your website will be live for one year unless for some reason you decide to cancel.

How long before people can find my website on the search engines like Google?
    Search engines take anywhere from a week to 2 months to index your site. This is normal. Please do not confuse this with your site being online. Your site is online within a week. My goal is to get you in the top ten of the major search engines. Unfortunately this cannot be done overnight. Search engines rank sites based on many factors and older established sites currently have this ranking. The great news is, I have had a lot of training on what these factors are and I will get you ranked as high as possible and as soon as possible. One of the tools I use is a program called Web CEO and It helps with a lot of the optimizations required to put your menu in the top 10. Directory link submissions will show up much sooner and will help your rankings a lot and will also provide new customers.

What will be the ROI, return on investment?
    You should see some new customers within the first 2 weeks because of the links I add to the directories. After the second month you should see more customers from the search engines. I will do my part by advertising online to the online community. You will be even more successful if you add your website name to your paper menu, to other forms of print advertising that you currently use and by word of mouth. I want you to be successful and receive new customers.

Whenever my paper menu changes, will you update my website?
     Yes. If your menu changes and you want me to update, just send me a copy. This is optional and totally up to you. I will scan, edit and upload your new menu and send you a bill for $40.
